In recent patent filings by Moderna,a scientist Dr Mihir Metkar has been identified as the primary contributor to its Covid 19 vaccine.
Dr.Mihir is an Ex-Vikheite and It is indeed a moment of immense pride for us at VPMS Pune to see how Dr Mihir has found his place globally! A member of the 2002-03 VPMS batch, he graduated with flying colours and went on to earn his MSc degree from the Institute of bioinformatics and biotechnology at the Savitribai Phule Pune University .He went on to work at the Indian Institute of Science education and research in Pune as a project assistant before shifting to the United States. He has been listed as the ‘First Named Inventor’ in the patent filing. Kudos Dr. Mihir and Thank you for your life saving hard work.
